So I'm a bit confused by the " Post- Oi" and having Dark Blue in with the Oi or Skinhead music genres, but it doesn't change the fact that they are a great band. It reminds me of the great alt/ New Romantic ( another douchey term like Post- Oi or Shoe Gaze.....keeo gazing at my shoes and I'll brain you over the head with a crowbar......ha,ha- I kid,I kid-- no seriously-- jokes like that get you put on lists and shit) ANYWAY,they remind me of Joy Division,Depeche Mode,New Order,Echo & The Bunnymen,or the Cure if Robert Smith was really depressed and angry. While they remind me of bands I loved- Dark Blue is completely fresh and isn't a stale rehash of somebody else's music. I got an update today that they dropped something new and I'm looking forward to checking it out
This is a great band that capture a sound and feeling that has been absent in music for awhile. Check em out. East Bay Working Class
